Swiftmore is open: £99 Self Assessment, recognised by HMRC
Swiftmore is live for the 2025/26 return. If you are a sole trader or a landlord and January is a word you would rather not hear, this is the two-minute version of what we built and why.
What it is
Self Assessment software that does the hard part. Upload a bank statement as a PDF or CSV, or photograph receipts, and every line is placed in the right box of the return. The few it cannot place, it asks about in plain English. You see one summary of what you earned, spent and owe, and nothing goes to HMRC until you press submit.
Swiftmore is recognised by HMRC for Self Assessment filing. It covers the main return with the self-employment and property pages, and Scottish income tax is handled.
What it costs
Keeping your records in Swiftmore is free for as long as you like, and your tax estimate updates as you go. You pay £99 once per tax year, which unlocks the reading of your records and the filing. No subscription, no January surcharge, and the same price in May as on 31 January. If our calculation is wrong, we refund the £99 and file the amendment free.
Why we built it
Swiftmore comes from Prodro Group Limited, a small UK company that looks closely at processes that cost people time and builds for them. The Self Assessment return is one of the most common pieces of admin in the country and one of the least loved. The forms ask questions in HMRC’s words, the figures have to be added up by hand, and the help on offer is either free and hard or paid and expensive. We thought the gap between those two was worth filling.
What is still to come
Making Tax Digital quarterly updates arrive for the April 2027 start. Until then Swiftmore is for the annual return, and the MTD checker on the site tells you the year the change reaches you. Limited companies are not planned.
If something on the site is wrong or unclear, write to hello@swiftmore.co.uk. A person reads it.
Figures are for the 2025/26 tax year and were checked against gov.uk on 16 October 2026. This is general information, not advice about your own position.
